Howdy vacationers!
We here at the Rustic Retreat sure hope you’ve enjoyed reading about the many wonderful places and things you can enjoy while you’re on vacation here in Concan, Texas. When you’re visiting we know there are many things you love to do!
There are the favorites like kayaking on the Frio, going tubing and swimming in her beautiful waters as well. Many of you love to throw a line out into the river waters and try your luck at fishing. Hiking the beautiful trails of Garner State Park and seeing the over ten million bats take flight are both top favorites of ‘Retreaters’ who have visited us.
Dancing on a dance floor under a million stars and after visiting Old Baldy and walking out onto a damn before swimming some more in the beautiful Frio is how many folks spell out a perfect day.
This time of year, however, there’s a sound that’s heard a lot around these parts. It’s the sound a person makes when they’re having such an incredible time they just have to yell “WOOOH!”
Now get ready to kick it up a notch as we put the WOOH in Uvalde and explore these action-packed attractions and events!

DRIVE A TANK!!!!
How many times have you watched a movie and seen a tank and thought, wow! I want to drive a tank!
Then you realized you were saying it out loud because your friends were looking at you with an irritated expression on their faces and now you also realize you were making explosion sounds as well, totally interrupting the movie for everyone.
Well, now your movie dream can come to life at Ox Hunting Ranch in Uvalde where you not only can you sit pretty behind the wheel..err..levers of a Sherman tank, but you can FIRE that bad boy. That’s right, just imagine feeling all that power under you as you’re surrounded by 30 tons of steel and moving parts, then when you come to a stop you can fire the 76mm cannon.
DriveTanks has dozens of vehicles and large guns including … a Sherman Tank (same variant Brad Pitt used in the blockbuster movie Fury), a Russian T-34-85, Leopard Tank, Chieftain Tank, German Half-Track, Pak-40 anti-tank gun, Howitzer 105 artillery, M134 Mini Gun, Vietnam Flamethrower, 81mm Mortar, M2 Machine Gun, and much more!
